Internal 12v inverter

Has anybody had any experience using one of these? I'm looking at getting one to run a digital video recorder in the car for a bullet camera.

Any advice is welcome...

I have used one for a few months and its great, its just like having a wall socket in the car. The only thing is you have to make sure its switched off when you start the engine as it can cause a power surge. Also its quite bulky (about the size of a house brick) and there is nowhere perfect to keep it. I have mine under the passenger seat but the wires are forever getting tangled around the gear stick.
