iO Play - Anyone have one?

  Mk2 Phase II 1.2 16v
Hi Chaps,

First of all hello everyone, long time lurker first time poster.

Iv recently bought an iO play bluetooth unit to play the music from my iPhone in my car.
I have connected the system up with the ISO harness supplied however when I play music it is only coming through my right speakers. When i play my radio through it however all 4 speakers are used as normal.
I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.1, that supports a2dp Bluetooth for streaming music in stereo so that shouldnt be the problem.

Does anyone else out there have an io play fitted to their Clio?
And if so, have you experienced any problems like this?

Thanks!

I have one fitted, no problems though. I use the bluetooth adaptor fitted to the botom of the phone though, loose connection in the harness maybe? what happens when someone phones?

Yes it could be.
When the radio is on though it still had to go through the io harness and that works fine, so it must be at the amp connection end if that's the case.
Talking of which, where did you fit the amp and the reciever box?
It's a bit tight behind there!

  Maybe a 172 Cup..
Seen these on net. Seem good value, about £100 fitted. Might have to invest if good bit of kit...

The guy who i bought it from sent me another amp box and harness to test today however still no luck.

I noticed that a pin was missing on the black speaker connection in my car, which should connect to a wire in the io play harness, so im guessing that is what the problem is.
They do seem a nice bit of kit but unfortunately i cant be doing with the hassle of trying to make it work in my car.
Im by far no expert in these things so i don't want to mess about too much in case i cause more problems.

Anyway, iv now gone and bought a Connects2 so ill see how i get on with that!

Just an update.

The connects2 came this morning. Easy to fit, just plugs into the CD changer port in the back of the head unit and hides just to the left behind the dash.
I have a pro clip phone holder that fits just to the left of the radio so i have threaded the iphone connecter to come out from the passenger foot well.

Sound quality is excellent, just the same as a CD, plus you can control the ipod via the steering wheel stalk.

The only problem i had was with the adaptor needed to charge the iphone. Because the iphone charging connecter is configured differently from the old ipod ones you need a small adaptor for the connects2 to charge the phone. The adaptor casing however is too fat to fit into the bottom of my iphone 4 when the bumper case is on. Iv removed the casing from the adaptor and need to make a makeshift casing just to protect it.

Apart from that its a good kit.
