Iphone 4 16gb out of space!

Well I've finally ran out of space on the Iphone 4, my ever growing collection of music, aps & sat-nav has used up all up... but then my brother told me about converting my music to aac through itunes?? so supposedly I loose quality but gain alot of space, any one use it? thoughts on the sound quality?

Yeah, it works. Sounds ok.

Or you could use iTunes match.

I compressed all my music, no noticeable difference in sound quality and it saved approx half my memory on my 16gb iPhone.
