Iphone 8 home button issues

Anyone had problems with their home butons after screen replacement? Fitted a new screen a small old one is knackered, now home button is not recognised which renders the phone useless.

To top it off it has just been restored to when I plug it into ITunes it asks you to verify by pressing the home key ffs ?

I take it you swapped the original home button over? I’d be taking it apart and checking the connection either way.

Done and still nothing.

I have read that some iPhone main boards won't work unless it has the genuine digitser plus ribbons.

Wondering if that's the issue.

I’ve just done a quick google and it seems they’re very hit and miss as to whether they will work or not.

The only way to check if the button has been broken whilst changing the screen seems to be by putting the old screen back in.

Unlucky mate, I’m not sure if that’s an Apple only fix. I wouldn’t be surprised if it works out cheaper buying a second hand phone though!

Taking it to a phone specialist tomorrow so they can have a look. Expensive phone to replace and not very good of apple to monopolies repairs if that ends up to be the case

They got themselves in trouble in some countries doing that, Australia I think.
