iphone dock and airplane mode

Hi all,

I have just bought an iphone dock to charge my newly bought iphone. When I plug it in it says something like "this device is not compatable with iphone, would you like to switch to airplane mode to avoid interfearence, but you won't be able to make or recieve calls"??

Any ideas whats going on and is this normal?

Thanks

yes its normal, happens with loads of accessories for iphone for some reason, the dock will still work, just ignore it.

I sometimes find turning my phone off and on again can solve it coming up, thats with a bose dock (one which is compatible with the iphone too), had it on a sony bluray ipod dock too.

Ok thanks for the reply mate. What is airplane mode anyway?

Mostly it works fine, I do get the odd occasion where the phone is searching for signal that a total racket blares through the speakers. Often just as i'm dozing off!

It makes it safe(r) to use on airplanes as it switches off your reception to prevent calls / internet use.

Means you can still listen to your music/games while in the air.

happens on mine. Mines an alarm clock with speakers, if im just listening to music i offend turn the airplane mode as then you dont get interference through the speakers
