iPod nano 5th gen not connecting?

does 3rd gen and 5th gen have different pin setup? the cable i got for my kenwood isn't picking up my new 5th gen but worked on 3rd gen

5th gen has a revised layout/os i thought which was a little different to the 3rd.

well it's definitely different! my gen3 was an australian version too so wasn't capped - this one looks god but christ its quiet!!!! any pointers on how i can get it to play through the ipod cable in my car? iys just coming out the internal speaker on the ipod. choked.

hmmm dont think so. it's going off the cd changer thingy, got the lead off ebay which adapts it to work via 'aux'. I'll email the guy i got the cable off.

No I mean what model number is your headunit, if you search it on Kenwoods site it should say what gen ipod's it works with.

oops sorry. its an alpine i've got, not a kenwood! it worked with my 3rd gen - exact same setup except for ipod.
