PH1 172
Couldn't find anything on here so looked online and found these instructions:
-Find the portion of the song you want in iTunes.
-Use the "Get Info" portion to change the start time and end time to the portion of the ring tone you want.
-Go into your Options, and under the Advanced tab, make sure that the encoder is AAC (I use 128 kbps)
-Right click on the song after you've changed the start and end times, and click "Convert to AAC"
-Find the new song you created (you can right click in Windows and hit "Show in Explorer")
-Remove from your iTunes Library, but KEEP THE FILE.
-Change the extension on the song from .m4a to .m4r
-Add to your iTunes library (just drag it in)
That's it! If you automatically sort your iTunes library, it will automatically move the file to your Ringtones folder.
All you have to do is delete the "a" and put in an "r". It may warn you that it's not compatible any more, but it will work.
Once you're finished, don't forget to remove the start time and end time on your file so your iPhone doesn't only play the portion you picked for the ringtone. Just go into "Get Info" for the song, then uncheck the start and end times.
Works a treat and now have a custom ringtone.
