Ipod wont charge on headunit

I just bought my nice new headunit an Alpine IDA X300 and my ipod doesnt charge i have the 4th gen ipod nano and on the screen it just says that charging isnt supported by this device or something similar wtf?? any ideas?

aint 4th gen the proper old one, maybe they changed the connection pins ,

Best look at the head units manual or source a pdf one and see what it says regarding it

Thanks i think thats exactly what i need and for only £20 will be worth it thanks, but my mate told me to try it with the usb cable you use for the computer and i tried that and it charges but it wont play the headunit says that there is a device error.
