is detailing the new modifying

Everyone seems to be talking about:

A Cleaning
B Coilovers
C Prospeed Exhausts

Just an observation...

Doesnt bother me as I need to think about all of the above - lol

why not !!:), it doesnt cost to much and a properly clean car will get as much attention as a modded one , well in my experience

I dont like cleaning my car as I prefer to drive it, but when its clean - boy is it lovely :)

nothing against it mate.it does cost though i spent £145 yesterday on cleaning stuff.

Detailing is certainly getting a lot more popular! Seems like more people are ready to admit they are cleaning obsessives these days anyway ;)

yep cos at the end of the day me like many people on here only do small bits of modding so once thats done the only thing left to do is get is looking good.

just got a pc myself so spent £150 on that plus other cleaning products

I dont want to add up how much Ive spent on detailing products - probably far too much over a couple of years.

Yeah, are they cordless when youre using them on the car? Or do they have to be plugged into the mains at the time?

i can honestly say, i dont care for my cars that much, but dont extensively modify cars either (lowered and exhaust at most)

to me

its just a car

I like to see mine clean, but more often I go to the car and say "clean it or go for a drive?". Needless to say it needs a good clean:oops:

Got a link to this one?

i personally wouldnt buy the megs cordless as its not powerfull enough, and the battery doesnt last long enough, and you can import the pc for not to much more

Well, Id probably go for the PC from Autopia, but I think it has to be used off the mains. Due to where my car is parked thats no good to me :(

I suffer from OCD obesessive compulsive detailer!

The megs cordless jobby gets alot of bad press for short battery time and its only good for waxing and glazing rather than for defect removal. However I have been using my megs cordless clone buffer today to polish my glass and its fantastic as coulnt be arsed to get the PC out!

James switch to 4 inch pads and you will get a lot longer, I get 1-1.5 hours from my clone megs buffer (exactly the same but only £29) The cheapest way to order the 4 inch pads is from autopia, cost you £8 for two pads and about the same again for psoatge. Also James the first meguiars cordless buffers that came out did suffer from poor battery life, let them know and you may get a replacement.

PS Mr SHeep good to see youve joined the fold

when i was a bit younger i was fully into modding, but now i aint, id rather keep my car standard, but yet unique to who i am. i think the little things matter the most, for example, on a clio dash where the time is, im trying to find out if its possible to put a cover on which will be lit up, with the word Renault in the actual font, or clio even, any 1 else like this?

I know I do, all this talk has me reaching for my wallet.

Still Meguiars Swirl Free, Carlack 68 x 2, VM x 2 and a coat off Wolfgang all by hand today, has given me a good work out!

Ill tell you what after a marathan pc session 2 weeks ago I was knackered! They get heavy after a few hours loL!

Yeah you do need one with a black car, cleaned my black one today only to find 3 long scratches on the bonnet, so soft that toyota paint, still nowt that the pc wont sort out when it comes out!

yeh its not so much the weight with me, but the vibration, after first using it i got shaky hands for a few hours, still well worth it tho

I now have an offer to try before I buy now so we shall see. Would be a nice tool to remove any marks. Vannilla Moose is supposeded to work really well via PC too.
