If the stripes are decals (like the real thing) it may well be possible to carefully remove them by getting the hair dryer on it. Modifying a model car, now that is sad!

I've bought a model of most of the cars I've owned over the years it's a bit of fun! What may, perhaps, be perceived as sad is that I buy models of the cars I can't afford to own in real life hence the clio v6 sat on my desk.

As evolution says 1:18 would be nice, there is a 1:18 version of the 197 but for some reason a MK1 and MK2 clio has never been produced at this scale.
