Is ow 40 oil good for the Clio 182

  NEED V6!
Just I was using 10w 40 oil as instructed by my garage, anyhow went to Halfords an picked up what i thought was 10w 40 but it was 0w 40 poured half of the 1 litre in then relised s**t I 've just but the wrong oil in anyhow took it out for a spin an everything was more than ok the engine came alive every time I touched the throttle the response was way smoother than before.

Is this oil ok to use or will it eventually kill the engine.

5w40 is recommended for the sports, 0w40 is fine though, just means the cars better protected at colder temperatures.

Cant see how youd notice a difference between oils to be honest but yes 0-40w is fine :)

To be honest i'd say its prob better off with 0w 40 rather than 10w 40.

Mmmm thats debateable really.10-40 is supposed to be good to some minus 20c.

From what I have read people that use 0 weight oils tend to find it will seep through the cam bolts on the rocker cover etc... Not the oils fault but its renault build quality

One of mine was leaking. I just nipped it up a quarter turn and it doesn't anymore.

10/40 all of the way, went on a recent track day and on a hot day two of the guys running 5/40 said the oil got so hot that it started tapping its tits off!

I'm personally going for fully synth 10/40 as they only recomend 5/40 on extreme sub zero temps.

^how? 40 means its the same viscosity at 100degC, i think your mates are either using cheap oil or talking out of the wrong hole
