Sold the V5 and ID...surely this makes this car worth scrap value and its uninsurable and broken. Can you re-apply for a V5? How does selling the ID even work actually? Sell V5, number plates and angle grind the chassis numbers out?

You can not sell the V5 or ID to put on another car that is ringing or cloning totally illegal.

I'm pretty sure you can buy ID'S, There was some vintage ford chassis plate with reg doc which fetched like 20k last year. Obviously the person will build a new car around the chassis plate.

Its illegal unless the ID is sold with a large amount of the vehicle parts ie: engine, front and rear axles etc as you have to use the majority of the original vehilces parts to reuse the ID and it has to be built into brandnew shell with an invoice from the manufacturer.

Looks to me that car only has a knackered dehpaser pulley from the symptoms given in the add. I reckon you could get the ID back for that car no worries if it still has the VIN number intact. Could be a good buy for someone that could be bothered with the hassle of getting the ID back.

I think this is worth a punt, surely all you need to do is apply for the V5 saying it was missing when you bought it. Then the seller will have some explaining to do.
