.....the cheapest car to have done the Top Gear timed lap.
Thing is ive just been watching last nights repeat and saw the F1 Renault, and wondered if they have now got the fastest, and, the cheapest car round their track.

as long as it was a BLACK 182, i reckon it would beat the reno F1 quite easily...

as regard to the cheapest, it has to be i cant think of any car cheaper that is as quick anyway?

the 182 is a seriously fast track car for the money. it would beat an older shape elise around the track and a sl55amg. even though the AMG time was in the wet and the 182 was moderatly damp WTF are you paying an extra £88,000 for if it loses so much time in the wet. massive grippy tires, huge weight and downforce + rwd ??

ohh and the R32 has no excuse even if its a wet time as its an enourmously £20,000+ grippy 4wd car.


how would a 182 with a few simple mods to power i.e 195-200bhp and some coilovers do ? most of us will probably go for at least sport/decat exhaust mods and induction + springs or coilovers.. that would push it even further up the tree !! perhaps up there with focusRS times.

SL55 stands out to me, 500bhp, clarkson always raving about it and its slower round the track than a Focus RS?? you would think just on the straight stretches it would inch a few tenthes right?

My Fabia vRS is getting remapped by JabbaSport on 14th Jan 05, apparently they just got 197 bhp from a remap on a Fabia (with a green panel filter), so itll be interesting to see what mine is with the PD Cupra 160 Intake aswell as a green panel filter, however it is much slower than my brothers 172 atm, hopefully not soon though, then itd mine the Cooper S aswell (not works). Btw, I have also got a strut brace to tighten the handling since i know its not the best.
