Is there a part of the Aerial loom that can perish? 1*2

My cup has had shocking radio reception of late.

The connector on the back of the head unit looks ok, as does the aerial and base.

Is there a part of the loom that can perish?

When my 1.2 did this it was the aerial base, i'd put money on that being wrong with yours too.

Have you checked the earth?

I've done nothing other than look at the base, I guess I'll have to drop the head lining down and have a proper check.

I bet it's got a bit loose. Give it a tighten up just to be sure.
