Is this a silenced decat?

Been looking at other photos and this seems to be larger than others i've seen. Most are just a straight through pipe with continuous diameter.

im not sure it is silenced as it looks like the lambda goes straight in to where the silencer packing would be??
get a light and look in to it and see if you can see mesh along the inner walls of it

Its on the car now and i dont know how to take it off LOL! But i looked into it when i got it and couldnt see anything inside at all.

LOL its pretty loud already so ill prob just keep it silenced. Just surprised really. Seems bit pointless.

dont think it is silenced tbh you would have seen packing in it, plus as i say the lambda probe would be bang in the way of any packing that would be in there

not really, we be bloody pointless really with narrower pipe either end.
i would imagine its louder than a normal one might give a bit of a resonance

Well i put it on with my new exhaust system as it came free. lol

Dont know what it would be like without but i love the way it sounds at the mo. Not really loud, sporty loud lol

No, "fluid" flow losses are made at an enlargement and a contraction. The silenced design is not as free flowing as a standard decat.

No, the wider body wont help unless the pipe coming out the rear of it is the same width. Steppin from narrow to wide, back to narrow will only slow the flow down.

Only difference between silenced and unsilenced is hollow pipe vs hollow pipe with internal walls made up of little holes.
