Not really, side skirt just came away. Sill appears fine.

Hope so, my mates dad's a claims investigator and he's looking at the details now, early signs are very good. Direct Line were great and booked her in for next Thursday for collection.

Hope so too, another look just now shows it's not too bad, panel just pushed in but no visible structure damage.

Judging by my wife's recent experience:

Regardless of the fact that your image clearly shows the other road user was in the wrong lane, if their insurance company contests the accident and without a witness, it may go 50-50.

Horrible.

Keep *every* receipt, letter and document that pertains to this case. It might seem obvious, but it could take a long time to resolve and sometimes you may have to send out duplicate documents months after you sent the originals.

Yes, can see it going that way despite the details being in my favour. Nevermind, that's what insurance is for. Worst case I lose my excess; just inconvenient and embarrasing driving the wife's Punto.

Lesson --- never sit beside someone on a round about regardless of lane markings. Paint does not stop noobs! Sorry to hear about the damage. I had the bumper knocked off my 182 Clio and I was gutted! This is worse, should be fixable though. Good luck with the ensuing s**t storm!

i would carry out an optoflex on the vehicle to check the rear axel

i would do the door too so the whole side gets replaced

just make sure direct line use genuine parts and not cheap knock offs and it should be ok

It'll cost a bit but thats what insurance is for! Had near identical to that on my mk2 van, insurance fixed it but it cost a good £1300 iirc.

Couldn't see how this would be contestable, the damage is to the nearside of the motor, on that stretch of road there seems to be no other possible explanation to how that car crashed into you on that side..? Should be a straight forward claim imho..

There's no such thing as a simple claim though! I was in a one way street and someone pulled out of a side street straight into me buy their insurance didnt pay out until court action was threatened!
