This amount he explained to me that this amount will come to you in that form based on earlier order he made from a company in the states but it did not workout because there was delay in the shippment of the goods he ordered so he has proposed that if you agree with the terms of payment you should forward youf

for him to forward it to the company to make out the check in your name and when the check gets to you ,you are to refund the balance{pounds 4,005} to his shipper via Westernn union money transfer immediately for him to be able to arrange for s hipping on time.So confirm this and provide the info for payment to get to you.

My Dad still gets stuff from Holland, about hes won 15 grand and just needs to send 100 quid to get it. Really annoys me this stuff cos there must still be people greedy and stupid enough to fall for it.

In summary, they send you more money than you wanted for the car, they then ask you to send back the difference and then the original cheque they sent bounces and you are down whatever you sent back to the guy.

mailto:W@nkers">W@nkers the lot of them !

I lost £80 odd once. Put an add on Auto Trader (Im assuming thats where hes seen your add) Then some one phoned up saying blah blah this and that some one wanted to buy my car and also he could get it advertised here there and every where.

Never saw or heard from them again!!

Theyre tssers. You sould just say Id rather sell it for cash to a genuine buyer, face to face.

This is the strange thing mate, Have only advertised it on here, thats it.

Want to buy in the car back (in the future) so wanted to sell it to someone on here preferably

Ooooh yes, its most definitely a scam.

I was flogging a bit of MTB kit on the Bike Magic web page when I was approached (via email) by a character called Wilson Moore. He was willing to pay over twice the price I wanted for the part, but only if I was to follow specific payment arrangement. The deal was that a “business associate” of his would send me a (UK drawn) cheque for £3500 (for a seat post worth £45!!). I would wait for the cheque to clear (so it wouldn’t bounce), I would then take my £120 and the rest of the money would be sent on to him via Western Union Money Transfer (same company coincidence?). He claimed that the “business associate” in the UK owed him money and this was the quickest way of getting him to pay???

The arrangement mentions ensuring that the cheque had cleared, so I assumed it was a way of laundering money. Needless to say I told him what to do with his offer!

I’d stay away from this kind of malarkey.

Also lads there is a big issue here of "money laundering"

They post money to you then you post it back it traces back to you and not to the bank robbery or credit card fraud from where they aquired it.

If your caught in a money laundering scam you can get the same 14 year sentence they get!

General rule is to avoid anything that mentions Western Union. You have absolutley no comeback with Western Union which is why these scamsters use it.

yeah i also had this as well. he would not give me any details until i had cashed the cheque. but think of it this way. open a fake account and then tell the person the name you opened the fake account up in. get the cheque let it clear withdraw the money and you are up ££££££ what ever amount the cheque was for. just never use the account again.

dont try this @ home lol

Been posted loads of times, basically if you advertise your car anywhere youll get an approach from someone offering to pay more, then the cheque clears and then is reversed or something similar normally resulting in you moneyless and car less, have a search through off topic been mentioned a few times in there.

Ridderstraat is Dutch for Knightstreet, so I dont think theres a street with such a name in the USA.

Had someone from france offering me twice what i wanted for an item on ebay.

He would not send me the money via anything like paypal..and wanted to use a service that i was unfamiliar with..when i told him i would only accept paypal or nochex he wasnt interested.

My instinct said that something was dodgy there but i am glad i will never know for sure!

Not the Hollywood, but there is one in FL between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Doesnt change the fact that the email/letter is a load of sh*te though & a massive scam.
