is this possible?

To somehow keep my custom system but just have it stealth instead of a chavvy tailpipe hanging out the back?
I don't want to lose the tone it gives off but just lose the visible tailpipe.
its a longlife system fitted where Charlie at prospeed used to work so its decent.

Any custom exhaust should be able to change the backbox, just tell them what you want. Probably cost anything up to £100 at a guess from what I've been looking at.

cheers for the quick reply's, will a new silencer change the tone?
£100 better than forking out for a new system for the time being seeing as its got a sports cat on it already.

I would have thought if it was a custom system it would be hard to get a back box to fit. Don't know if there's any decent exhaust places up by you but if you have a trip down to Worcester there's a place called a44 exhausts, they are very very good although a little pricey.

only the tailpipe from the back @Daniel
I will get underneath tomorrow if it hasn't snowed overnight as forecasted.
just out of curiosity, what are my best options for a decent back box? I'm looking for a nice rasp at higher revs but not a massive boom. I presume its the back box which dictates the overall tone?
apologies for what probably seem straight forward questions

If you like your current backbox, you're best off getting a new hanger welded to it (so it sits higher) and a stealth type tailpipe.

ah fair play, cheers foe that mate. I might pop round to a local exhaust place tomorrow then and see what they can do. Is there an oem style of stealth tailpipe or am I just tucking it in as best to make it not visible?

As long as it points down and not at the bumper!

And make sure they use stainless steel if your current one is stainless.

I think it will depend on the size of backbox, if you've got to raise it really high to hide it, there's potential for the bend that goes over the rear beam to foul the underside of the car.
It's worth checking, before you lop off the tailpipe and hike the backbox up!

Don't rely on a email reply, he never got back to me with email when I had my Milltek modified, I just tried calling him every day until he answered.
It is only him so computer takes a back seat to phone calls (bit like BTM)

@M.C.. This was my reply this morning to the email.

Hello, unfortunately I no longer make exhausts due to the growing number of people booking cars in and not showing and constantly moaning about price I've reluctantly decided to quit , sorry Phil

so I went to LTC exhausts and they said I would have to have a complete new system. Seeing as they only do powerflow I kindly walked away. I just want a tailpipe welding on and the backbox raised. There is plenty of room. Surely anyone with welding experience would have a go?
anybody know of someone who would do this? West midlands way if possible.

I have used AA silencers in Stafford before. They will do almost anything you want. On my 182 I had the centre box removed and replaced with a straight pipe and the work was awesome. Very reasonable price too. They custom make exhausts and seem to have race cars there.

No worries mate, hopefully they can sort it. I'm going to have to have my tailpipe changed as it sits below the bumper and I want it recessed.

yeah that's what I asked at LTC. Don't k ow if these are a big firm or just local?
They seem to do all the chav cars round here with loud ass powerflow systems with 10 tailpipes coming out the back.
I didn't hold much hope for them doing it as they usually don't do anything out of their comfort zone. Felt like a typical "nah you don't want that I do this all day I know what you need" type of place.

Tell me about it. My list gets bigger, fixes, upgrades, change the wheels, change bits. Unfortunately the budget never increases with the list!! :)
