Is this Right ? K-Tec Stealth Mk2

If you cut say an inch off the end of the tail pipe, wouldnt affect performance at all would it? Would look fair bit better then.

My mk1 stealth used to hang down like that.

I must have got a right shitter, and when it starts to rattle done expect to get a replacement easily. BTW this is the second one I was given, the first one fell off!!!!!

That's wierd as the Mk1 I have is pretty light

The Magnex I had before that was probably double the weight

That exhaust looks pretty shoddy Iain....for over £300 I wouldn't accept that.

It does look like a mk1 stealth. That bracket is adjustable on the mk2 isn't it?? I was very impressed with the build on my stealth. It is maybe a bit heavy but it's not a race exhaust and when fitting it to a FF car I don't think a few lbs is a big deal! I'd prefer a few lbs for the ability to be able to hear on the motorway. I've had light race exhausts (on my 106's and on my Elise) and both were a real bind for everyday use!

it may well be the earlier version and your right I maybe shouldnt have accepted it but when u have no exhaust theres not alot to be done. Like I said that is the second one I was given and it has now fallen apart!!!

Get what you pay for I suppose, I did buy a clio aswell though!!

It is an earlier one. Those were made by tiger iirc (shite) The new exhausts they sell are made by janspeed, ALOT better

I spoke to some t**t on the phone who K-tec put me onto, he said K-tec have several people that make the exhaust so he doesnt even know if this fucked one I have was made by him. I was told I had to take it off send it back for them to look at it and then they would send me a replacement. Oh and pay them 50 quid for the pleasure of that at the same time. so.... Exhaust costs 300 quid, to be fitted 30 quid. It breaks and nearly falls off altogether. K-tec send another 3 days later so another 30 quid to get fitted. Now they want 50 quid for a 3rd centre section and obviously another 30 quid for fittng...

NO BAD!!!

Big lesson in pay for what u get that!!!!

Iain, I thought this may have been sorted by now. Give me a call and let me know what happened as I a sure the £50 would have been a refundable deposit to make sure they got the old centre back.

Just to clarify, that picture is of an old version centre section hanger and I have to admit it is not the best quality I have seen and should not have been sent out.

David I appreciate what you are saying, at the end of the day I have been passed on to your supplier and had to deal with them direct. The guy told me it may not even be him that made the exhaust. If I was anywhere near K-tec I would have brought the car to you. Like I said before this is my second one and was never asked for the 1st centre section back and to be fair you were spot on in sending another asap when I showed you the pics of the broken part. Its still lying in the shed if you want it back now (only because it wont fit in the wheelie bin).

It May be the older version aswell David but you are deffo right I should never have received something of that quality, unfortunately at the time I had no choice but to fit an exhaust.

Im passed caring about it now tbh mate if you want to call me Il pm you my number.

Well my Mk1 couldn't have been made by them as it was spot on..nothing like that one in the pic.

I had a mk1 stealth, and looked nothing like that. Welds were pretty good, was just the design, and the bend in general that was rubbish. Build quality was ok though.

I did have to file the bolt holes for the rear hanger which bolts to the car so I coudl position it further back to stop knocking.

I also think the centre to backbox joint could be a better design.

Apart from that it seems like a good exhaust
