They were solid white lines but they were almost finished when they did dive out.
Even so, I think the last person overtaking was being a bit of a sheep and should have hung back till those in front had cleared, rather than being caught on the wrong side of the road with something else coming.

you were going to... hence the whole driving in the middle of the road thing, regardless of blind peaks, oncoming vehicles, and 5 different cars/buses infront... not to mention and solid white line.
