not at all mate, my old valver is for sale over on williams clio for a very similar price only 75k , but williams blue. go check it out. its equally as mint as the one your looking at.

i asked him on the phone about the 1 previous owner and he said that his wife recieved the car brand new as a company car in 1995 then when the company took it back to get rid of they decided 2 buy it from them, and also they have swapped the log book at some stage to another family member so he reckons if has technically had 1 owner/family? if the previous owners name on the log book checks out to be the same as the current owner then fair enough i think? what do you think? also he says he has service history up to 30k and after that it was regualry serviced by a friend of the family who is a mechanic so he has no proof of service, what do ppl think of no proof when buying a car? i doubt he wouldnt have serviced it at the right times, it just wouldnt be in your interest to abuse/neglect such a good condition car.


also iv already had 2 naples mk1's so mayb a 449 blue would be a nice change

fair enough about the owners history...makes sense I guess..just double check the names on the log book...

full service history on one of these would be quite hard to find i should think...so just check everything you can to see what sort of condition it's in.

I've stopped keeping stuff for mine once it went over 100K, as it won't make the blindest bit of difference when I sell it IMO, it will still not be worth a lot. Anyone who is looking should hopefully know what to look out for, and see that mine has been serviced regularly and kept well.

I like the naples, looks mint.

Also, mileage doesn't bother me too much, I don't like to see cars that are on exceptionally low mileage, I am always suspicious of them.

i think the blue 1 on autotrader is much better value to be honest! and i like the fatc it has 1 owner/family and only has 49k on the clock. so do what do you think as to no service history for the last 20k miles? minor?

If you are willing to pay that then yeah it looks like a nice one tbh. Make sure you still give it a very good look over as even though it's only 49k it could still be a bit of a dog. Also, you'll get a feeling of how they are in terms of price but try and get a bit more than £100 off. The best way imo is to ask them how much they will knock off, will probably give you £100 or £50, then say ah well I was only really looking to pay so much knocking another £100 to £200 off the price he has offered then get him to meet you somewhere in the middle. Just make sure your not left thinking maybe you could have got a bit more off it, even if you offend them with a low offer at least you tried, lol.

I sold my standard M reg one in July 2006 for £2700, it was sports blue with factory grey leather, the car (condtion wise) i'd say 9/10

I'd say the naples one's worth about 2k tops - only if it's a mint one though (obviously it'll need the centre caps for the alloys, but thats no biggie - they are a quite hard to find though & can be expensive)

I am surprised that people on here are saying it's not over priced tbh as most of the time, most on here come out with cr*p like 'its only worth a grand'

Good luck, let us know if it's all it seems to be (check for a plie of bills & history, cambelt change etc)

Check that the cambelts been done etc (I think it ought to have been changed twice, as I think that a cambelt on a vlaver is every 5 years) check it's got a pile of bills etc too.

i purchased SDV around 2 years ago for 2500 and its condition is spotless, was also on 75k,

The thing is though that over the past few months the arse has totally fallen out of the market for valvers in terms of price. Not so long ago people were paying £3000 for a mint valver and for anything that was near £1000 it was though it muse have been a crap example, not you can get a very clean williams for £2.5k at times. If a car is mint enough it really just comes down to the buyer, if you want a mint one that much you will pay over the odds for it. Personally I wouldn't pay £2k for any valver now, but then again I'm a student and can't afford to pay an extra £1000 just to get the mintest one around - it's possible I would think differently if I was earning more.
