WHOOOO HOOOO!!!!

great, one day i will come meet you at the ring.

anyway, what was wrong with your cam?

the lifters not pumping up properly?

There is nothing wrong whit the cam. Just the lifters which have been out of a business for a loong time. I used a spare head for the 2.0. So I still have a spare 1.8. Will se what is wrong with the crank soon. It is locked:eek:

oh dear........oil starvation?
It is in my belive that hydraulic lifters which have been standing still for a while does sound a little at first. No such sound now.

no, i mean the crank, has the crank suffered from starvation?

and yes to the potentiometer.

On the old engine: I started to feel the engine had less power, at the end of the ring I started to get a hammering sound. I drove slowly to the pit. There I manage to stall it. And the engine is locked ever since. Lycky me I ahde the Clio on a trailer for easter... Havent open up the block yet, the pistons are loose, but the crank is stuck.

Wooooooo Hooooooo....

Finally!!!! :D Always very exciting to start an engine after a reassembly... The crank should not have suffered from oil starvation if you made oilpressure with the starter (no leads attached/plugs)... ?!

I always keep my lifters in a bath with oil, so they don´t leak... But should´t really matter.... But the lifter noise will stop earlier!

Great pics... If you 2 madmen and others are going to the Ring.. Then i´m there!!!!! Just need too finish my lillte engine project first!!!

BenR: Can Renault check the position of the potentiometer and reset the idle.....? The dealers here in DK are totally crap.... Don´t think they would know how.... Do they use the XR25? (I think it´s called!)

Michael

The crank problem was on my old engine, cliokongen. The new engine had been getting a lot of oil before starting considering when I was checking why it dident start with the megane flywheel...

Tell us more about the potentiometer adjusting Ben!!!:D

Would bee cool to se som clios at the Ring. I am hoping to go in 14 days if the 16v is running fine/and my willy ECU will arive in time. My last trip of the year (september) will be by plane and rental, so next year it is... :(

The XR25 gets plugged in and the TPS is adjusted until a pre determind voltage is gained at which point the TPS is correctly positioned.

You can do it with a voltmeter but I forgot what the voltage is meant to be.
