itg maxogen and cold air feed

  182 and cherokee 4.0
hi. this might be a stupid question but can you still fit a cold air feed with itg maxogen kit? i was looking at the itg for when i get my licence back and was going to start getting other bits for my car and was unsure whether a caf could still be used.

thanks.

cheers. is it easy to do?

lol about as easy as getting a pipe and feeding it through the workings. Pointless in my opinion as the itg will pick up cool air anyway. its just gunna pick up more crap and water with an extra feed

Imo the above is pointless as the maxogen is designed to draw cool air in from where it sit's. I have fitted a cold air feed from my bumper grille and the only noticable difference was a hole in my grille, which I have now had to replace!!!

Now this was something I thought about while fitting my Maxogen, I had the bumper off, wheel off and arch liner out and thought what a fantastic idea.

Needless to say there is almost no room for said cold air feed and after the aluminium tubing I was using was bent and dented in such a way as that it wouldn’t provide any cooling benefit I had a hissy fit took it all out, and went to the pub.

I know others with more patience than I have fitted one but I’ve only even seen this with removing a fog light or cutting a mouse hole in the front grill and that’s not something I’ll be doing.

You did go to town:slap:

Turn wheel to left, remove couple of screws, remove piping etc job done;)

Helps if someone has fitted one before, cheers Mike :D

Thankfully I didn't go to all that effort to simply fit the Maxogen and feed but to change the headlights and a few other bits ;)

You might think that spending nearly 400 quid on a IK means it also automatically finds its own cold air supply but the truth is it cant. It has the advantage of sticking into the coldest part of the engine and being good at what it does, thats it.

The same still applys to this bit of kit like any other IK. The more cold air you feed it, the better it will be at its job.
