Its New Brakes Time!

For a few extra beer tokens I'd go with Brembo HC discs & Ferodo DS2500 pad combo
- a VERY popular combination on here, and for good reason :)

Yea im gonna change the fluid on the same day too.

Only thing is the Brembo HC seem expensive when i might end up swopping toe megane/197 brembos down the line anyways. Thats the reason for looking for standard brake setup for now.

Just go OE then.... It's a pretty decent setup tbh for road use anyway.

I'm using Bosch stuff on mine, which rarely sees anything harder than a desperate dash to the tube to pick up the missus, they work fine and stop me well.

Not to mention they're bloody cheap

Braided lines and decent fluid should hepl although I can't say I personally noticed a massive difference on mine but I'm not very heavy on the brakes nowadays.

I'm sure I read the rear brake lines are nearly solid pipework anyway except for a short bit after a bias valve or something so dont really benefit from the braided lines but as they come in sets you may as well fit them imo.

I have recently been in the same predicament as to what discs and pads to buy.

Its hardly a few extra beer tokens. The price of the Ferodos can nearly buy you either kit that he has posted!

Go with Brembo HC discs, but find a cheaper alternative for the pads is my advice. The Ferodos may be the best thing since sliced bread, but if you arent looking to pay the extra, there are plenty of alternatives!

I settled for Greenstuff from GSF for £41 posted. Get mixed reviews, but was worth a shot! So far no problems and awesome stopping power :)
