iv got no drive :(

Hello all
i have a 172 cup and i was out for a blast yesterday i pulled out of a junction quick and the wheels started spining then i just had no drive what so ever, iv checked the drive shafts and cv joints and they seem fine so i am thinking diff or gearbox?

Any noises? Probably the gearbox circlip that holds the diff in.

no there was no noise when it happend but iv had the car up in the air and when i spin the drive shat i can hear clicking in the diff. how do i find out if its the circlip?

Sounds like the common diff circlip like Scotty says. I could be wrong, but I'm sure there were some pictures on here that showed the circlip area if you take the n/s driveshaft out. Will see if i can find the picture.

As said if you pull the ns shaft out (big rubber boot) you can fish around under where the shaft locates and find the bits, that's if it turns out to be the circlip, parts available from renault, personally I replaced the circlip and spacer and never had an issue, some will say otherwise.

Don't forget to drain the box oil first before getting the shaft out.
