Japan Historix (56K no way, 200+ pics)

Car  Clio IV 0,9 Tce
Hi Guys

Went to this event today at Suzuka Twin circuit in Japan. I had the track mistaken for the Suzuka GP circuit, but apperently there is a mini "twin" replica of the track in the same town. When we finally found it, it really didn't disapoint, there was some awesome metal.

A btw, it is me sitting in the White Kenmeri. It was for sale, and the owner even let me rev the engine. If only my super seven was sold, then i would have had it right there and then, it was awesome (and reasonably cheap).

Best thread in ages.

I thought I'd reply, then spend half an hour drooling over all the pictures.

That Kenmeri you sat in was mint!

Japan´s the only country where everybody knows how to tune cars IIRC. Awesome machinery. Would swap the clio for almost any of those cars.

I think I'd still have a 2-Door Hako. But then it'd be a Kenmeri.

That Cresta about half way down on Equips is also amazing. In fact, there's not a car there that doesn't make me want it.

Retro Japanese stuff gives me the horn. They really know how to give a car stance.

i dont know what a Kenmeri thing is but i really want one of them Datsun 2*0 Z such nice looking motors. looks like a good day out that dose

I love Hakosuka's too, but when you see them IRL, there is something very special over a Kenmeri, at least in my opinion. It is the rarest skyline too,

Truly epic epic epic! VERY jealous, would love to go to something like that. I WILL go to Japan soon.

Quick question though, in Japan the rear plates have to be attached to the chassis. Easy on their cars as they are designed with this is mind. But what do they do with imports that clearly aren't?

That is without a doubt thee best photoshoot of any car show I have ever seen, I was gonna post up my fav motors but I would just be reposting 3/4 of your pics, farcking lurvly :)

Thank you very much, think i began to annoy my colleagues a bit, couldn't stop taking pics.

Dunno what it is but it is hell a cool

In person there was no finish though, look at the edge above the door window. Still killer stance though.

dalla, im overly jealous of you!! what are you actually doing out there??

the 240 with the tripple rotor looks an animal!!

i have to go to japan in the next year or so! chris wanna go together?? go raid all the parts shops lol? i got a friend of mine out there who moved out to live with his wife and has started a recycling business as he said that there wasnt really any out there... he has made a FORTUNE in less than 6 months!

Hi

Iam working as a consultant/engineer out here. I have the responsibility of an installation site at an icecream factory. My company produces production equipment for the icecream industry.
I still have 2 months left over here. My dad has my Super Seven while iam away, and he has promised to try and sell it (it has been forsale for a while though). If iam lucky and that happens, i will try and find a Kenmeri to import to Denmark. That would be so awesome.

You're that impressed by them then? If you get one, you'll be my new CS hero. :p

Will you be looking for one similar to the one you sat in?

Actually i got the business card of the seller. He is based in Kyoto which is close to where i am. So if iam lucky (i have one interested in the S7), i would very much like the one i sat in. But we will have to see.

But yeah i am very impressed with them, they look every bit as cool IRL as on pics. And the Straight six L28 on triple mikuni's sounds amazing.

I bet!

Hope it all goes well for you then mate! It'd be brilliant to get that car.

Are you going to any more events whilst you're over there?

can you talk japanese? or do you have a translator?? or is it pretty good language barrier wise?

i did make a comment in your other topic, if you fancy making some $$ there are a few parts i need that is japan only....

Awesome.

Weirdly, I'm getting more and more into the jap car scene, but the more I do the more embarrassed I am of my own car! lol.

I have a translator, the language barrier is pretty bad, almost no one speaks english. What do you need, i am not sure if i got time for it though, it is mostly work for me. But if it is something i can bring in my suitcase, then maybe.

Iam not sure if i get to go to anymore events over here, but i would like to. Maybe iam going to visit Rocky Auto at some point.

This was probably one of the best cars there. Unfortunately i did not see the engine, but the finish, stance and general look was outstanding. It had a full rollcage in polished aluminium too, it looked really good.
