JC5 with gripper oil viscosity

  Clio 172
About to swap my standard JC5 in my clio 182 for a box with a gripper installed. Car is a dedicated track car.

@NorthloopCup I believe recommends Redline MLT 75w80 in standard box or Redline MT90 in a track / gripper.

Hoping someone can help me understand why use a higher rate (75w90) for a gripper & on track?
Better protection as will naturally get hotter on track?

Regarding oil brand, in Oz we don’t get most of the oils you use and Redline isn’t cheap. Having to change the oil more in a gripper wondering if this https://penriteoil.com.au/products/pro-gear-gl-4-75w-90-full-syn
(Has tech info in section down bottom of page) would compare well to Redline MT90 or do I just spend the extra knowing it quality?

Should have mentioned I have heaps of MTL so if the stuff to use great if not rather get what right then hurt the box

I recommend mt90 for track work purely because the higher viscosity oil also has a higher operating temperature.

You’d be fine with mtl I imagine, but if you’re hammering it, just change it more frequently.
