hi just wandering if anybody has had any jerkin when engine is cold so much that i have to ride the clutch to stop stalling?? is this a common fault?

But yes, very common, dangerous problem with these. Get into second gear as quick as you can and be gentle with the throttle.
Apparently renault have an update available to remove it.
The plus side is that it makes them very difficult to abuse from cold.

All 172/182s get it. I just start the car and sit there for 30 seconds if it has been sat overnight.
