Re: XxHarDinGxX's Project Racing Blue

lol renault dont know that though :p

did they even look at your headlights lol?
Lol. They must of just switched them on.

Suits the F1's, Joe. Personally I'd get some springs and leave those on :)
It does, but it's already in Sportlines. I do love them, but I just want to go lower eventually. Although my cat scrapes on the top of my drive :( It should be better with the decat. That's my excuse for one anyway.

Re: XxHarDinGxX's Project Racing Blue

Last Friday night, me and fastdanbar fitting me decat onto the yozza. Oh the sound, it never gets boring:eek: I think it's freed up things a little better too. I'd defiantly recommend a decat to anyone who hasn't got one fitted to a yozza.

Anyway, this weekend I did a bit of work to the car over the weekend. I've been meaning to paint the top of my brake disc's for a while. So I thought I might aswell give the arches a good going over at the same time. The amount of tar/dirt that came out was shocking! I'll let the pictures do the talking..

A few before's.

A quick picture of the 1.2 looking sorry for itself :dapprove:

After a jetwash, Megs APC, Tardis they finally came up clean. So I treated the plastics AF Revive and everything else with FK1000p. So they should last a little longer now hopefully.

I painted part of the disc's up with black hammerite paint. The rust was annoying me a little.

A few afters.

I brought the carbon fibre splitter back to life a bit too with some trim restorer. And took a cheeky snap of the wheel bolts.

Cars looking really good Joe.

Looks stunning on the F1's. Nice to see you've still got a arch liner belt cover.

Thanks lads. I could do with a new set of arch liners eventually. I might get some before the winter.

Re: XxHarDinGxX's Project Racing Blue

Well I haven't updated in here for a while really. A few weeks back I managed to get my hands on some K-Tec coilovers, so I snapped them up straight away. Then the next weekend Matt gave me a hand fitting them, and straightened up the Yozza. Thanks :) We cleaned both the cars and met up with Knuckles and his mate Matt for a few pictures.

Then last weekend I went to the EFI Rolling Road meet, managed to 167 bhp which is maybe a little lower than I was hoping for to be honest. I'm putting the slightly low reading down to the Simota, as it has less than inch space between the slam panel.

So today I went about making my own iduction setup. I ordered a stainless 90 bend and used another pipe I had laying around. It's pretty much the same as a K&N typhoon, so the filter is just below the headlight unit. The car feels a lot more alive through the rev range now, so I'm happy. It sounds like VTEC too ;)

Nice work with the IK. Have you thought about a re-map, probably get you quite a few horses.

Re: XxHarDinGxX's Project Racing Blue

Thanks Jon, I'm pretty happy with it. I'm thinking of getting an RS Tuner soon, so I'll run the 98RON map and go from there.

I used the Simota one in the end Jake.

Nice BTCC technology. You must've put months of R&D in?

Looks good mate :)

I MIGHT have ablack Samco elbow knocking around if you're interested. Its a very big might though, I really can't remember.

Re: XxHarDinGxX's Project Racing Blue

Forget BTCC technology. This new design is F1 technology ;)

Thanks. I'll defiantly take it off you, if you have one. I've been wanting one for quite a while, but couldn't bring myself to spends £70 odd.

I've actually just taken the lower part of the kit off, so it's just like the K-Tec one now. I'm just a little worried of water getting inside, I took the filter off just before and it was a little damp. The other reason is that the pipe sat resting on the headlight adjuster. So I didn't really want that to get damaged. But to be honest, it feels even better where it is now, and even more noise. There just seems to be a lot more torque now than before. I'll have to get it back on the rollers again.

Yep. A couple of mates want to get their cars on too, so I'll stick mine back on.

Right then, last weekend I gave the car a really good going over before the winter started properly.

I got quick a few things done today. I started off by swapping the inlet manifold over, for the one I bought off Luke's old Trophy. The plan is to make my origanal inlets nice and shiny, and I might get them matched maybe. Anyone no of a place in the North West that does it?

I then went on to try and figure out why my xenon headlight washers weren't working. The passenger side one kept leaking too, so I orded up two new ones and fitted them both. As it's sods law I only swap one over, then 2 weeks later the other one goes. I changed over both of the no return valves too any tried to see if they worked. They did! But after putting the car back together again they've now stopped working :S It has to be the motor that has gone/intermittent isn't it?

I tried to have a look at the motor, but I struggled to remove the wiper blades. I undid all the ncessery bolts, but they were seized on. And I didn't really want to end up breaking them. Any tips?

I swapped over the cabin filter also, I've been meaning to do it for ages now.

Old vs New.

I gave everything a quick wipe down whilst the front bumper was off, it was pretty dirty to be fair.

8175569274_7dfc9ae809_z.jpg

IMG_4554 by Joe_Harding, on Flickr

I decided to remove the front fog lights, they're not really needed. And I really like the look of the front end with them removed. I also to the advice and got myself a 3/4 plate. So the front end looked much better imo now. Finally I re-fitted the carbon splitter that I had to remove for the RR day.

Nice pic (No.2) from the R/R :)

The front does look more agressvie without the fogs. Have you bonded some mesh behind the fog surrounds or just left it?

Re: XxHarDinGxX's Project Racing Blue

I bought a brand new RS Tuner the other week, and set it up on the car. I went for the 98 RON map, along with pops & bangs. It feels like a completely different car now, really liking the way it drives.

I've also got a set of old exhaust mounts to use along with the powerflex mounts, but with the weather being so cold I just haven't had the motivation to do it. i have a new oem revised centre mount to fit too, but I'll do it in a few weeks maybe.

Then I went out for a few pictures last weekend, and managed to get one of the pictures onto the banner at the top of the screen :)

And thanks Jamie, I've got quite a few other bits planned still.

Cracking RB. I got one two weeks ago. Starting a project thread and hope it will look as good as yours!! Its a fairly good one anyway but some minor things to do.

Cheers

lovely car mate!

How do the k-tech coilovers feel? seen a set on ebay and don't know whether to go for them or get cup shocks and eibachis or similar.

  Racing Blue 182 Cup
I just put brand new cup shocks and cooksport springs on my RB. Transormed. Well worth it and work superbly on crappy british roads. Did 40 mile b road blast today :) Coilovers look great though Joe
