Rather than using those gay circlip-type-jobs would there be any problems using a jubilee clip on the ends of the boots? or would it be better to use big cable ties?
Not sure on Clios, but on some cars the CV boot rubber is not very flexible and a cable tie can't be pulled tight enough to seal in the grease. So my guess is don't use cable ties.
On my mk1, i could never get a cable tie tight enough to hold the cv boot on, it just kept sliding off every time. Jubilee clip would go on tight, but when the wheel spun the clip part hit the hub bit were it connects clamps onto suspension arm. I used a clip i got with a cv boot kit in the end
Thing is im taking the boot off and putting it back on again so I won't have those circlips that normally come with boot kits, where can I buy them seperate?
