Right... changed a wheel bearing yesterday, bought new wheel bearing, took the drum off, took the drum and the new wheel bearing to a back street garage near me, they pressed old bearing out and put new one in with circlip. I didnt mess with any of the bits and bobs inside the drum that make up the brake (ie, the shoe's and all the self adjusting bits n bobs, but i may of knocked them not sure). I put the drum back on with the new nylon nut, torqued it up to 175Nm, and now when i brake, my brake pedal kinda moves up and down under my foot, but the frequency of the pedal going up and down decreases as the car slow's down, and also it go's away if i brake really hard. The problem is definitely coming from the wheel i changed the bearing on, because if i put the handbrake on lightly, and then move the car forward in 1st gear, the suspension on that wheel moves up and down as the car moves, as if the brake is only working on 180 degree's of the wheel turning.
The only thing i can think of is that when the old bearing has been pressed out, or the new one pressed in, they have bent the drum and made it oval somehow, and therefor i need a new drum... but just wanted to check for answers on here first, could it be anything else?
