oooft mine was like that befor the box went mateI think its the mounts...Probably never had them done. on 50k so...Worth doing!
Feels like it's gonna stall everytime i move off on the clutch!
well ur describing the same symptoms i had mateFcuk don't say that! It's hard to get in gear...like really hard! Gonna change the fluid when i'm next home...See if there's any s**t in it!
release bearing?i had the suspicion thats what it could be but if its on its way out , its on its way out ! so im not going to lose sleep over it ..although i havnt heard of a thrust bearing ?
release bearing?
Mine did this and with a car full of people on an incline it was worse and really hard to pull away smoothly. GDI took a look and the clutch and gearbox were fine really, it was just the springs on the clutch plate that had weakened over time, thus causing the slight judder and crap pulling away, since changing the clutch and cable its been a dream to drive.
^ Sammy, defo not that! i'm almost sure it's a combination of the clutch cable and Mounts.
On my old 172 the cable needed replaced, but it didn't vibrate/judder...
But he is talking about the later 172 TB i think ; not the phase 1 cable TB.
I've also read that the later one can go "[word filtered]" (?) , opening and closing - juddering..
Only when opening throttle completely it opens up. When giving little throttle it judders, it can be checked by removing filter and looking at the butterfly while someone handles the throttle.
erm, CLUTCH lol
classic symptoms of the clutch plate springs being worn/soft. The springs are there to damp engagement, if they're loose they wont be doing their job so you get a judder
6hrs! you having a bubble? takes less than that to get the motor out do 10 star jumps and put it bak in!
Thing is, i'm gonna do the cable and mounts...on the basis that i beleive there needed, and failing that i'll have a look at the ^ above mentioned.
on a 2 poster it's about 6 hours work, subframe off but leaving the engine in
