Just a few questions...

Ok, my car is due to go in for it's 1st service, as it has nearly reached 18k miles. As I have never done anything like this before, I need a few tips and advise about the correct way to get this done correctly.

I know I have to arrange a appointment a Reno workshop/garage. But will I need to get anything before hand? Will I get a courtesy car, etc...

Thanks...

Courtesy car depends on if there one free.

Top up your washer fluid before hand dand refuse to pay for a top up which they always try and do.

Alwas refuse whatever other work they want to do. DIY it as its cheaper brakes etc.

BUMP...

Surely there must be other suggestions anyone can offer me?!

How much does the 1st service usually cost on a 1.2, 16v Clio?

Ok, service has been booked for a week Monday (9th Oct). Still not got much replies about this. I know what to work expect, as I have read edde's thread.

But is there anything I need to buy of my own? Oil? Oil Filter? etc... I just need to know, because I like to get prepared for things, and not letting thing to the last minute.

As I am sure many of you on here has been in the same situation as me...

No you shouldn't need to buy anything of your own, they'll have everything you need for a normal service.

Some people do buy and supply their own oil in order to either save a few quid, or use a specialist oil, but no need to do that.

If you need a courtesy car make sure you ask for one in advance as they only normally have so many so may need to change your booking for a date that a car will be available. Make sure you take your driving licence with you too, as they might want to see / take a copy of that before giving you a courtesy car.

LOL, I paid alot more than that. Infact I paid £193 inc VAT. 2 things done under warrenty aswell. No more squeaking under the car when I choose 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear now - horrah for that!!

But at least the service has been done with no probs at all...
