just bought a 182!!!!!!!!!!!

Good choice...opted for the non cup pack myself due to impatience and going for an import.(looked at car on a Tuesday and picked it up on a Saturday!)
Paid just under 12K

Getting a K-Tec Splitter and when money allows Eibach suspension and some decent wheels.

Dont really like the 182 wheels although i prefer them in silver.

Otherwise big :D whenever i drive it!!!!

cheers lads, just cant believe i have to wait until end of november

I can believe it, ordered mine mid-June and it aint even been built yet or rather I havent been given the number plate or any guaranteed delivery date.

Me thinks you will be lucky to get it before Xmas/2005. I was told "mid-August" when I first ordered mine!

:eek:where did you "order" yours from?

Toypop i wouldnt be happy with that to be honest.

Im buying mine through a broker , as are you. Mine have given me a confirmed delivery date, no reg yet (but car is not due for another 7 weeks). They have told me the dealer its coming to (in Liverpool), and they have also told me that i can pick it up from the dealer myself.

Id be straight on the dog and bone to them, to be honest. What do they say when you question them ? Can i ask which broker you used ?

Inchcape. I was given a "confirmed date" (15th Aug) but this slipped - Renaults fault for not building the car on time.

I think the broker learned their lesson after that one as they then told me "13th September" during the "sorry sir but..." phone call but when they sent a letter the next day to put it in writing it actually said "mid September but this is not confirmed as the car has not been built".

I dont blame the broker, I dont believe for one minute that they have the car sitting in a compound somewhere! Its probably in parts on a factory floor in Dieppe...

Anyway lead times were 8 weeks on the 182. I ordered the car mid June but I bet by the time the paperwork was passed to Renault for ordering you can say the beginning of July. So you have 4 weeks in July, then the factory shut in August so nothing was built. Add another 4 weeks from when the factory reopened and that puts the predicted delivery date to the very end of September.

Alymac ordered his motor 3 months after me. So that means there are 3 months worth of orders to be built in between my car and his. So if my car turns up on say 30th Sept, you are talking a Christmas/new year delivery for him. In all honesty I see my car turning up more mid October time and that would put Alymacs car in at a mid Jan delivery.

Yeah, i see your point. I truly hope that i get mine delivered on time.

The wait is killing me, although if what you say is true, i probably wont get it till December.

Also, how do you find out if its been built or not ? :)

Well like I said, the broker sure as hell aint gonna pay to keep it in some compound and neither are Renault so its either on a boat or in boxes!!!

The wait will kill me more, I sold my old car in mid July after they gave me the "confirmed" date of Aug 15th. The person I sold it to let me borrow their old Pug 205 to keep me going for a month. The 205 was destined for the scrapper when the MOT runs out in mid Oct so the owner let me have it for nothing. Naturally in mid July when I had been given the confirmed date in August I had no frickin idea I could still be driving the blasted thing in October!!! I will end up walking 10 miles to work and back each day if Renault dont get a move on!

Toypop, was their anything unusual about your order ie one of the special paints or racing stripes? i would be so peed off mate if i was you, just hoping mine is here on time

Got mine 5 weeks ago in black gold with both packs in a dealer in london off the showroom floor .

Paid £13500

Done 4000 mile in it allready had the oil changed at 3500 as the oil light came on

youll see it around maidenhead quite alot

it replaced Mercedes C32 Amg masive downgrade but an awsome car it was meant to be a stop gap but i think ill keep it .

Runs better on super unleaded by the way

Interesting Andyb, i traded my R32 in mid august and am patiently waiting until 29th Oct for my titanium 182 to arrive.

Glad you are finding it fun, thats what i was looking for when i decided to downgrade.

Nothing unusual Alymac, just a titanium with cup packs. No other extras. Because I sold my Vectra I am using an old banger at the moment on which the MOT runs out mid Oct and it will never pass without $$$ spent on it. If I dont have the 182 by mid Oct I will have to buy myself another banger. In which case I will spend £300 and get one with at least 6 months MOT, cancel my order with Renault and go down the Honda dealers.

What pi$$es me off is not that its taking so long. If they had said in June that it wouldnt be delivered until late Oct I would have been perfectly happy about it. Instead they gave me a load of BS and as a result I made transport plans to keep me going for a couple of months only. As a result I could find myself without transport in October where as if they had been honest I would have bought a banger with a decent MOT back in June or not sold my Vectra until October.

The biggest joke of all is that this isnt a BMW X5 or a Ferrari - the sort of prestige car you expect to wait for. It is a Renault Clio for pitys sake.
