Just bought a Mk3 Clio...

For the Missus - a 1.4 16v Dynamique in Pearl black.

I have to say that it looked a lot better in the metal. Also feels far better put together and the materials used inside are way ahead of the fisher-price plastic in my 172.

Nice to drive too, if a little 'frumpy' feeling. Nowhere near as fun as her old 1.2 Dynamique, but more stable and much quieter. More grown up (well, boring if I'm honest, but it's not my car!) and quite a bit bigger too. Width, height and length. Driving position is much better. Still high, but you don't get the feeling you sat on it rather than in it anymore.

I'm still not 100% on the looks, but its a giant leap forward in terms of quality compared to her old Mk2.

Interestingly, Renault are doing a deal for people who had a Clio Dynamiques on 0% finance - You get £300 cash back from Renault and an apr of 1.9%. Which when you do a bit of bartering on your trade in price can get you a nice little deal!

Nice one mate. I was impressed with the 1.2 courtesy car I had a few weeks back. It's certainly grown up compared to the old model, but you can still chuck it around a fair bit.

She fell in love with it. Had that black one in the pics not been there she may not have been so keen. But it was. And she loves a bit of black.

She wasn't bothered about a test drive, but I was. Have to say I was impressed. Its pretty much a better car to drive in every sense. Apart from the gain in weight. But it's perfect what my missus needs a car for.

So that was that. £500 deposit later and it should be here in May. lol. more expense.:dead:

He did tell me but I've forgot. It's actually not as well specced as her last Clio. Sh's not got Auto lights/wipers this time. It has got 'reactive conrnering lights' though. hehe. She's got air con as an option, but I wanted her to get the 16" alloys and the spoiler. lol.

That was one of the difference over the Expression - The 'style pack' is standard on Dynamiques - Front fogs, Sports Headlamps (look like Xenons but aren't) and cornering lights. Chromed door handles inside and out. And different interior colours apparently.

Me too. I kind of knew that my initial reaction to it would change - deffo a grower. I still don't think it's a particularily good looking car, but I don't find it as ugly as i did when i first saw it.

Sorry to go against the grain, but I'm not a fan of the interior at the moment, open to change though. Looks extremely high in the last couple of pic's aswell. Just my opinion.

Have to agree, the Mk3 I tried seemed alot firmer in the suspension, brakes were improved and the driving position was better too, aswell as the much more ergonomic steering wheel grip.

Space inside has increased too, especially for passengers in the back, a more realistic amount of leg space there

None taken mate. I'm inclined to agree actually - the wheels are a bit gash. But the missus thought they were 'pretty'. She said she didn't want the 16" wheels because she said "I'm not a boy racer like you are". Gutted. lol.

Seen a black mk3 around where I stay, and it does look the best colour imo as well. I'm coming around to the new shape too although still looks a tad too high
