Been thinking about buying one for a while. Woke up Saturday morning in need of a bit of 'blokes' retail therapy;), so went down to Jessops and bought one of these.

Went with an open mind, was originally planning on the new EOS450D, but once I handled this, my mind was made up. In comparison with the Canon and Sony models, this was streets ahead in build quality and handling. Really impressed with the modes and image stabilisation built into the lenses.

Was buying the Nikon 18-200VR [£400] or Sigma 18-200VR [£300] with it but they were out of stock of D80 bodies and only had the Body & Lens [18-55] Kit. So I bought that and will have a play before deciding on a longer range zoom.

18-200 is something I could keep on all the time, but as I like a bit of motorsport photography, I didnt know whether to go for the 70-300VR.

Will get some test shots in this week and post up my thoughts.

I have a D80 and also went to Jessops with an open mind looked to the canon EOS450D (looked cheap next to the Nikon) looked at the Sony (Not for me) and got the Nikon (Loving it)

Also had a 18-200VR but sold it to fund a Sigma 10-20 and a 70-300VR

The D80 is a fantastic camera, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I now find myself looking on fleabay for another 18-200 as I don't use the 70-300 but I love the 10-20

I'll be selling my 18-200mm VR shortly. £320 and its yours

Yeah, I almost bought one from Jessops for £400, and ended up choosing the Sigma 18-200 OS for £299, though like I say they didnt have the D80 body on its own, so I bought the kit lens for £50 extra to start off with.

Bit steep at mo Clart - thanks for the offer though.:)
