Just bought a Valver today......

Car  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
......and the bliming thing keeps cutting out! Most of the time i press the clutch in, the revs dip below 1000 and stalls. But the car starts perfectly afterwards. Can anyone hazard a guess on whats up?

Tim

im no expert but it could be the idle control valve might be worth giving it a clean with some carb cleaner check all pipes for splits is it doing it when its cold or hot m8

Both, i drove it for about 40 miles so it was warm, but parked up for an hour and did the same

hmmm maybe new a new idle control valve?

read something a while back, could be to do with the air temp sensor too

:)

Any air leaks off of any of the pipes under the bonnet around the air filter?

discaboobalator,or the foo foo valve. Failing that, try the flux capacitor.

Ive tried warming it up, cooling it down and trying, but after 20 mins of driving it does it all the time!

Should i adjust the idle speed?

Idle Speed Control Valve (ISCV) do a search on the forum for it, most common cause of valvers stalling, happened on mine few months back, think the ISCV was just loose...
