Now i need to know a couple of things?

1. Can i plug this straight into a UK plug or will i need a transformer?
2. What pads are best for removing swirls and giving it a nice polish.
3. What cutting compound is the best for the pads.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good job on going for a rotary, buying a G220/DA was the worst mistake ive ever made.

ps. Pm me and let me know what you think of it, i wanna buy one, nearly went for one of these in the first place.

So does it plug into a UK Plug then ?

IMO the g220 isnt all that light anyways. If its a nice day tomorrow im guna finish off the rest of my car. Got the rear quater to do and half of the bumper, the g220 is such a slow piece of kit.

Yes, UK plug.

I've used it nearly everyday (at work) for the last 3/4 months and it hasn't put a foot wrong.

Can plug straight into the mains.
2. What pads are best for removing swirls and giving it a nice polish.
2X Megs 6.5 inch polishing and finshing pads aswell as backing plate, and 2X 4 inch Sonus SFX polishing and finishing spot pads.
3. What cutting compound is the best for the pads.
You won't need a compound. Just get Menzerna Intensive Polish and Final Finish.

Michael when you say its a slow piece of kit,how do you mean as ive spoke to Megs UK today about mine and they said theyve had problems with the speed controller and the ones that theyve had back ws due to that fault
I would maybe contact them about it as you might have the same prob?

No im on my second g220 now, origional only worked on speed six, new one is fine, it works. I just mean, apply any pressure on it and itll stop spinning almost. Lot of work needs to go into your paintwork with that machine. and ove got some friendly rds on my bumper and a b**ch of a clearcoat scratch on my bonnet which ive only managed to round off so far.

It has however managed to get rid of a bird s**t mark which i put on speed six with 83 and a cutting pad.

Also chech the centre spindal as well as mine did exctly the same as yours,when aplying pressure it would basically stop spinning and just oscilate but after takinit of the panel the whiole backing plate,pad and centre spindal fell out!!so no wonder when applying pressure it stopped
I think its the circlip inside which was the fault

lol. If you let the machine do thw work so tp speak, it wont spin very well. the plate is fine though. i may sell the machine actually.

Surprised it stops spinning Michael, the PC keeps going with a fair amount of pressure on it, as much as I would like almost anyway...maybe even the second unit you have isn't 100%?
