Just bought phase1 sport... what issues will I have.

Hi

just brought a phase1 sport 60K on the clock with a dents and scrapes.

As you can see above the sport is a phase 1 with cable throttle body.

My issues are im doing a conversion to my MK2 Phase2 dynamic which comes with electronic throttle body and all electronic parts ext.

Will there be a problem with changing the phase1 engine wiring loom to the phase 2 car will this match up..

What issue will i have the the phase1 to phase2?

Use the PH1? Doesn't look in too bad condition tbh!

my only question is why nack a perfectly good car mate? it just for insurance or something?

I have not taken pictures of the rear quarter you would then understand.

Thanks just hoping someone can help me with this before i start removing.

You won't have an issue regarding the thottle cable, when ph2's have ITB's they in to ditch the electronic one too, iirc just use the throttle pedal out of your ph1 and put it in your ph2 mate

thanks mate will my phase 2 have the holes already for the cable to go through or will new holes have to be drilled?

Im assuming they will be there already on the phase2?

sorry my pronunciation is shocking can anyone help me with anyone wiring issues i will have meaning phase2 Front headlights ext will this match up to ph1 wiring loom ?

Im assuming they will be there already on the phase2?

There should be a grommet that you can take off to get the cable through it. Look here on post 100 some pics you may find useful.

it will all drop straight in.. but as i have said before you will pretty much need to strip the clio your keeping back to a bare shell.. then fit all the sport parts in. may need to sort out a ph2 exhaust system.. cant remember whether there different or not

sell your current car and use the funds to repair the dent?! lol
 
I wouldn't bother with a conversion. How bad is the arch?

If it's still fine to drive then you're good to go. Just do what loads of people on here do, take pics from the good angle ;)

big lack of spirit here for conversions!

as ive said mate, any more questions just fire them my way! looks like it was a resonably well looked after car before the bump! good base to start with!

i really wouldent bother, half way through when things are not just "dropping in" you will wish you had just sorted out the dent lol.
This is a question not a high horse remark - are conversions and miss match cars not harder to insure, tax and sell?

In theory yes it would be working out to be a pain but with all the work that is being done on the car bye my self friends and neighbour who works for a Renault specialist garage meaning the paper work won't be a problem with him approving and stamping this all.. as long everything is done safely but if any problems occur it will be delt with after the conversion with a bit if spare cash hopefully..

But tbf I would assume the car would hold sport value due to Beeing approved by the garage ext and vic check and it being a sleeper buy HEY if it don't u 90% never make bk on any modified vehicles...

Insurance is the first issue to go by but a few no claims discount defiantly make this possible.
