Just Broke my iPhone !!!

hey peps just managed to smash my screen on my i phone 4 gutted to say the word lol
its only 2 weeks old

whats the deal with getting this fixed do i take it straight to a apple shop or o2 shop

i dont have insurance on it either

anyone else broke there's ??

any help would be grateful

its the new i phone 4 , dropped it out of pocket at 4 am doing some work on top of a panel , pay for a accident are u for real

ive broke loads of screens on phones before and replaced free of charge ??????? ok then u harsh lot how much for a new screen

Take it in first, if it looks like it's been poorly manufactured, especially with how much apple are hyping up the new screen, they may replace it for free is you are very lucky.

Apple used to charge £130 for a screen replacement on the 3GS, not sure if it's the same for the iPhone 4.

Tom, you say no chance, but depending upon the damage to the phone, i.e if its not mangled, so it doesnt look like it's had a big smash, then they may replace FOC.

My first 3gs cracked the screen and because the glass style was revised they said "it shouldn't do that with the new glass" they replaced it.

I'm pretty sure any monkey will be able to see that the phone has been dropped. Accident or not, you'll have to pay for a new screen. A broken screen due to falling Xcm is not a design flaw.

The screen is supposed to be horrendously strong, and if the phone landed flat on its face, there would be little damage to the phone, just to the screen.

At the same time, phones are supposed to be able to take some degree of punishment, it's something you carry around all day afterall, the screen shouldn't shatter at all (as we're shown on apples "iphone 4" video) so if it has done, then he has a chance of getting it replaced.

Also, I'm not sure what the time he dropped it at has to do with anything???

Your best bet Mate would be take it to o2 shop and tell them it fell from your sofa on te floor and cracked, they'll say it's your fault and you argue it should been strong enough to last more than 50cm fall? That's what I did. After speaking to the manager and referring to the sales of good act 1969 they apologised and got it fixed

Do yourself a favour, if your a clumsy clown or work in a physical environment which it sounds like you do, get yourself a decent protective case otherwise I can see you paying out alot.

Surely you can get insuarnce through your bank, or something, where they wont ask to see the phone prior to insuring it.

Then, you could claim

I got insurance on my iPhone 3G.... It fell off my bed and the back fell off, took it in to ask if it could be replaced for free since it was only a month old, they said no il have to pay £50... so i just bodged the back back on and told them il be cancelling my insurance..
