Just fit ktec janspeed, bit of a problem

R8, fit my ktek cat back today and t looks and sounds quality.

However, if I rev it in second and then let my foot off the gas there's a pop sort of noise but I'm pretty sure it's not a back fire sort of pop.

My dad thinks it could be because I did ball an socket joint at the cat up too tight that it's not got enough flex when the engine flexes.

Any ideas? How tight should this clamp be done up?

you have a R8? wrong forum!
is it a POP or a Clunk? does it come from under the car or behind the car? is it metallic in sound?

lol, not sure about the 182 setup but wouldnt of thought you would want to fit any part of the exhaust loose. also surely the movement should be in the joint not the fittings? ... pure speculation on my part however,
awaits gurus to give answer

It's sort of a pop and seems as if it's coming from middle of the car and I can sort of feel It when it does it, feels like a quick kik in the back of my chair.

Mine does this too but only when cold.

Only done it from I got the decat put in also.

Doesnt bother me either, its just the pressure in the exhaust escaping in a farty pop.

My ktec does it untill it warms up. in first if i acelerate and let off then if i lift off at 2000rpm in second.

seen a few people have the same thing on here. should stop once the car is warmed up though

It will most likely be due to the fact the cat has not warmed up.
