Just got engine oil on the engine

It'll be fine anyway, might see a little bit of steam when it burns off but that's it.

I tend to use acid as engine oil now - much better results

yeh true, oil ignition has proved a common fault on the mk2 ph1 1.2's iirc. Watch out.

Lmao how many times have i spilt oil on my engine when toppin it up, it pools in my spark plug recesses by now

I used to spend ages cleaning it up. If I spill any now i just give it a quick wipe then get the engine going so it burns off.

I'll spilt a bit of brake fluid on the exhaust mani the other day. My god it stunk when it burnt off.

I'd suggest not turning the heating on full blast for the first few minutes or you'll get direct proof that it burns off easily...

(and no I don't mean flames through the heating vents - although that would be pretty cool to see :rasp

I use a coke bottle tipped upside down cut in half. It will be fine, saying that my mate was topping up his corsa sri and spilt oil directly on the hot exhaust manifold and that went up in flames. Dont need to worry about that too much on the Clio though as its tucked away at the back.
