Just got my Clio MK3 1.6 VVT Dynamique

I just bought a clio and i seem to be having a few problems.
Yesterday it wouldn't start, i checked the oil level and it seems like there is nothing inside
the dipstick is coiled and is turning brown?
i put some oil into the engine and it started working,
when i check the oil level again its like there is no oil even though i have put some in
i am thinking of taking it for a service.
Any suggestions?

Sounds like your engine is very damaged.

Good news
the mechanic said my dipstick is broken so thats why i couldn't see the level. i just need to find another one
and everything else is okay.
I got my first car on wednesday so i didn't really know what was going on.
i paid £1600 for this mk3 clio dynamique vvt 1.6 62k miles which seems like a good price from the BCA auction
feeling very relieved
I paid the mechanic £30 for the service and he gave me a spare tyre as i never had one.
