Just got my new LG viewty!

Had mine about a month now and I'm very happy with it.

Widescreen video is excellent, as is the 120FPS video to, cameras good quality.

Can you tell me what firmware you have please? And what games/apps have come preloaded?

wish i had waited for one, i've had my k850i for a month now and hate it. has crashed twice now and has to be rebooted everytime so i loose everything and is generally crap

Camera not quite as good though I dont think.

had a play with my mates, really liked it!

better than I thought and easy to use. Slightly basic look to a few bits on the OS, but nothing thats a problem at all.

Decent phone!

ive gone off the k850 after reading many reviews, some on here.

Its between the LG or a Blackberry, im still undecided. Due for an upgrade on the 6th of Dec.

LG has had many good reviews.

what can anyone say is the best thing about it?

The general consensus is that its a pretty good fone... but atm there's not a lot of Apps/Games for it seeing as though its not symbian like the N95.

the only real downside is usually LG phones are s**t and they dont have a right lot of suport for them on the net (in terms of customising, apps, etc, etc) and i beleive the PC software is crap too.

Aye PC suite is naff imo and I only used it once to sync all my contacts and calendar, now just use USB mass storage mode on the phone to transfer music, pics, divx etc over.

Cracking phone tho, just needs LG to support it and some proper touchscreen games to come out.

I have also been looking at getting this phone, for anyone that's got one, is the touch screen easy to use or do you end up having to press it about 5 times before it responds, also does the screen come with a cover otherwise i would be worried about it getting scratched to death in my pocket?

All phone screens get scratched to s**t. Touch or otherwise. I have a nice thin screen protector on my iPhone though. I'm sure there are similar things available for the LG?

LG supply you with a free screen protector but I haven't used it. Phone responds easily to touches, very sensitive.

120fps makes the shuter faster and when played back (in 30fps) looks slow-motion style, but you can't take video at 120fps and play it at 120fps - sadly. Take a look:

Loving the phone atm, camera is quality, touch screen isnt too hard to use once you get used to it, texting is suprisingly quick.

Also with mine on o2 the internet is really quick and very easy to use, havnt scratched my screen as yet but im sure its gonna happen as its natural, willl put one of the screen protectors on but prefer the look without!

The protector on my iPhone is near invisible. Probably about 0.2mm thick or less. I love that high frame-rate video by the way. Pretty impressive :approve:

TBH you can't really compare Iphone and LG Viewty imho. Iphone is more about listerning to Music on the go with its bulit in 8GB and the LG Viewty is aimed at people who are more bothered about the Camera..

There's also a problem with what size MicroSD Card the LG Viewty can take. It says (in the manual) it can take a memory card up 2GB, but on some forums people have commented that they have been able to use 4GB, 6GB & 8GB. Although if you can get the higher cards writing to the LG Viewty, it still only shows 2GB's of space on the External Memory. LG just needs to upgrade its firmware.

Im in the middle of trying to put American Gangsta onto it, will be interesting to see wether it works or not, if it does than that will be a major plus for LG in the battle with the iphone!

Any ideas on how i can get it to work? lol....its saying usupported data atm but the movie file is in avi, same as films which the phone records itself?

If you wanna put movies on the Viewty, you need to use the DIVX convertor found on the LG CD in the box, doesn't take long to convert em. When transferring to the phone, make sure the phone is set to USB Mass storage mode and you'll find transfer rates are a lot lot faster.

And yeah, videos you record on the Viewty are saved as AVI files in DIVX encoding.
