Just had my 1.2 dynamique dyno’d

Just had a before and after test done on my 1.2 16v with a PX Viper induction kit.

Standard 65bhp ATW

Viper 65bhp ATW

The viper did gain 3bhp in the mid-range.

Was going to get the ecu chipped by http://www.chip-tuning.comwww.chip-tuning.com but was found not possible as the laptop could not read the ecu. Bugger.

Does anybody know it superchips do anything for my car.

so thats what about 73bhp at the flywheel then? Pretty respectable for a 1.2.

Any chance of a scan of the printout?

chris - the standard engine power is 75bhp

superchips are not even considering developing a chip for the 1.2 16v, i even offered them my car as the donor

how many miles does your car have on it?? when i had mine tested at BBT i only had 1500 miles on the clock and ended up with 57.9bhp @ wheels (78.9bhp engine power), now the figure is much nearer to 70bhp @ wheels - will find out exactly what at power engineering shortly

57.9 bhp at the wheels is nowhere near 78.9bhp at the crank. Unless of course its 4wd.

A loss of 21 bhp, ok maybe if you drained all the oil oil out of the box and threw some sand in there aye.

If you have 70 at the wheels then thats about 80 ish at the crank. Oh yeah this is real power not the bullsh*t like the 78.9 figure.

Clio Dynamique should be very happy with that figure.

My cars just got over 7000 miles on the clock.

Im now considering getting a Dastek fitted by GMC Motorsport.

I need more POWER!

then get more CCs! 100bhp/ltr from a 1.2 will still only give you about 120bhp.................

exactly.

Your gonna get feck all from tunign the 1.2 and to get anywhere near 100bhp per litre its gonna have to turbo some serious rpms.

16V F7Ps are around for a ton.

if you like, i can scan the page in for you and e-mail you it

the exact figures are

Engine Power (measured) 78.5hp @ 84mph / 5652 1/min
Wheel Power (measured 57.9hp @ 84mph / 5652 1/min
Power Losses (measured) 20.6hp @ 84mph / 5652 1/min
Engine Power (corrected) 77.9hp @ 84mph / 5652 1/min
Torque (corrcted) 79lbs/ft @ 4129 1/min (Engine)

there were plenty of witnesses to this as it was a cliosport organised event, most people at the rr day thought the rollers were fairly accurate

Ahh the ignorance is bliss theory in practice.

My man a 20 bhp loss is something I would expect on a 180 - 200 bhp fwd machine.

Scan the page if you want, no doubt the ambient temp was hotter than the arse of the sun, the humidity was so high you were wearing snorkels and the barometric pressure was higher on the moon.

57 at the wheels is in the 60s. Not the 70s or above.

A standard 1.8 16V should be putting out in the mid 120s if the engines at standard power. Like the E6J engines should be putting out low 70s at stock 80bhp power.

A fwd box will lose about 12 or so %. A 4wd about 20% and rwd about 15 - 20% depending on the car. These are real actual losses not the max power sh*te.

No doubt you shall scoff at this and claim I am an idiot, but I assure you sir I am no muppet.

i wonder how they can claim that sort of stuff.

20bhp!!!!!

thats 15kw of heat.........try standing near a 15kw source of heat.......your box would be blue! lol

Yes more ccs is the best way of getting more power but I have a little problem. I want to keep my car for another 12months as I will loose to much money on it if I sell it now. Im also on the free insurence deal till the end of nov and no I havent told them about the IK or the Eibach sportline lowering spring that are in my room waiting to get fitted.

So I was thinking of getting a Dastek fitted and when I come to sell my car I can take it of and fit it to my new car. Hopefully a mk1 172. Thats all Im thinking of doing to my engine.

I like the clio sport calculater. Ive now worked it out. To get the power of a 1.4 16v I need an extra 13bhp @ the wheels.

lets also remember the car only as 1500 miles on the clock, transmission loss was always going to be high

dont ask me why the figures are as they are, they just are, i cant say anymore than what it says on paper
