just lowered - need tracking?

hey all ive lowered the 172 about three weeks ago by 30 mm on eibach springs. would i need the tracking done or checked?

it seems quite good in the corners and accelerating but just normal and a bit bumpier on uneven surfaces at a constant 50mph. just wondered if anyone else had dropped the same and had had it checked?

Yea, i dropped mine on Eibachs and had it done, £25 instead of £50 each tyre when they wear out!

We seem to be carrying out the same mods,

I have also just fitted some Eibach Pro line springs.

When you talk about adjusting/correcting suspension set up, which bit toe, camber, caster, etc.

I haven't had a good look yet but I assume you can only adjust toe, unless you buy chamber shims.

The reason I ask is because toe does not change considerably when changing ride height IMO and if it does change slightly, it will change equally.

p.s. I work on Land Rover's so it could be different on Clio, but the basic's are the same. Amazingly a Disco 3 is fully adjustable, camber, caster and toe.

Just dropped mine on Eibach pros, was advised that all the messing about with the suspension/springs ect could put the tracking out a little so its worth getting it checked, but I am going to wait a week or so for the springs to fully settle. Camber can't be adjusted without camber bolts, but for a 20-30mm drop it doesnt need it, infact the negative camber helps in the dry, not sure about wet tho.

BTW who ever says fitting springs yourself is easy must have a full car garage worth of kit, I ended up with 3 trips to halfords during the build, needed 21mm deep offset spanner, which Halfords dont do, so ended up paying £12 for one from a specialist. Also need a 21mm socket with 6 sides (not 12 - but a 22mm with 6 sides fits ok) and a breaker bar for the socket (which Halfords do) as well as WD40, spring compressors, axel stands, trolley jack, 6mm Hex key and two mates with 5 hours to spare. Worth it tho.
