Just returned from K-tec with some additions

  Cayman S Edition 1
Finally got a new K-tec Ultra performance Sports Exhaust along with a remap done on the Trophy.

Sounds great and the power delivery is smoother.

Cheers David, I'm another happy customer:)

How much louder is the Ultra Performance Sports exhaust compared with standard?

Its got a nice subtle throaty noise. Nothing too trevvy which is perfect for me!

Just been out for a little thrashing and I have to say the remap has added so much more life to it.

Would recommend both to anyone!

did you go into Bournemouth centre by any chance?

Saw the same trophy at 3 different times yesterday. Good shout on the ultra performance zaust... I have one on mine and I highly rate it.

An engine will last between 140,000 and 150,000 miles if looked after correctly. A remapped engine may last between 135,000 and 145,000 miles. Merely a slight reduction in lifespan.

The IT manager at work tuned RS Fords in his youth (Sierras, Escorts etc..) and found that engines with a remap would be put under extra strain they were not designed for and wouldn't last as long as a standard - and well maintained - engine.

So the engine gets to 145k and thinks.... f**k it, I've had enough!?

what rubbish.

Hi mate,

No we went straight home afterwards (Woking in Surrey).

Cheers for the comments though. Still can't get over what an improvement both mods have made to it!

Next job is to get the brakes sorted on the Trophy and my wife's Megane 225

Well the Trophy's on 43k, so I guess its got a little bit of life left in it;)

You mean the turbo ones. a clio remap will give you a handfull of extra bhp not 30-40+ you would get with a turbo

Although I type this in Tenerife, I had to see the responses to my comments. An engine will, if looked after, last for 140,000 miles. Yes, by that time the car will be knackered and worth two euros, but the engine will still run.

As predicted, the experts on this forum, in all their infinite wisdom, have proved the mechanics wrong.

Sounds good, is this just a generic map or made for your mods like a RSTuning remap?

Hi Jay,

Glad you like the parts we fitted and I hope the pads work well on the 225 ;)

Yup I'll happily recommend them to anyone!

We were going to fit the pads yesterday, however seeing as it rained all day, we'll have to wait until next weekend now:(

I'll let you know how we get on. In addition, can you give Sean a nudge to get in touch about the French Car Feature;) I've pm'd him my contact details now.

I have the 2004 K-Tec look exhaust on my 172, nice product !
I hesitate to make the remap... 7800rpm is a quite high for the engine :S
Do you really feel the difference even if you stop at 7200rpm?

  clio 182
heys guys, im also interested in the remap, i myself is having the ultra performance supersports version being delivered tomorrow and is now thinking about having the remap, how does it feel afta 7200 rpm?

Prob the biggest difference you will feel will be when you change gear and dont sometimes fall out the rev range ;)

7800 will be ok on the clio engine.

An engine will last as long as the owner wants it to .

By that I mean how well it has been treated, maintained and how hard it has been pushed.
