Im interested in a set of these, but have noticed that the package for 16v clios includeds new calliper carriers? how come, also any pics if anyone has a set fitted? Wolud e-mail k-tec but its just as easy to post here plus i'll get pics and feedback.
When i had it fitted to my megane 1 (same brakes as 16v) i had to grind the caliper carrier back to get a sensible amount of disc clearance so i guess thats why they've started including them now...they didn't used too tho...
I've never had 4pots but the k-tec big brake kit was a noticable improvment over standard and for not that much more than what you'd pay for standard...it also looks shithot behind larger wheels (16s/17s).
K-tec had them fitted to their 300bhp R5 demo car so they're up to the job...
I've had the 285 mm k-tecs and they were ok....but not worth it if you want better braking performance. Look sweeet but 4 pots are the way to go for stopping power.
I don't recomend they they are better than stock and do look realy nice but if you ever drive the car on atrack the brakes will be gone in a few laps I did a track day with them on the Williams and they were gone I'd complelty wrecked the whole setup. 4 pots are the way to do I've yet to fade them and they look like a proper racing car. I'd recomend getting new disks and if necessary go to a btter pad like ds2500 or ds3000 (I'm not sure the 3000's are road legal and they do eat disks). Then get some decient fluid.
They did look good though.
cheers for all the reply's. Weighing it all up i think i may just get the K-tec kit, considering my clio is a 1.2 for now, and im sure the kit will be a vast improvement on my current brakes, plus they will look pretty good behind my 17"s. Only thinking of getting uprated brakes as mine are on the way out.
Now what colour callipers....?
also are the pads that come with the kit 'low dust'?
