K-TEC decat for MK1 172

I am looking into getting a decat from K-TEC for MY 172 and wondered how it will sound with my t-tec stealth system?
Will it be much louder and do they sound good as the last one I fitted to my 106gti made it sound raspy so I took if off!

Is one of those k-tec and one janspeed then?
Which is cheaper?(k-tec about £145)

Got one fitted to mine and it sounds fine. Originally put it on with stock exhaust before upgrading to S/S and didnt make much of a difference to the sound. The one on k-tec is silenced....

Did you notice any improvements with it fitted?

I thought the stock twin cats on the 172 Mk1 had eaten away a few hp and it felt more responsive, especially around 5-6k rev's. I would say it's definately worth putting one on.

Yes it's the one pictured above, Janspeed. This is what K-tec supplied me. 172 Mk1 silenced de-cat...

It's a real b*****d to fit this though. I started to do it myself then gave up and took it to a tire and exhaust centre. Its nearly impossible to get around the back of where it bolts onto the manifold. Renault compact everything in so tightly. Plus I was lay under the car that was just jacked up and the tire and exhaust centre got it up on the ramp which made it easier...
