K-Tec delivery charges...

Hi didn't know where to post but it's to do with brake pads so...

Just checking this is right as if so, I'm quite astounded tbh!

Just added one pair of front pads to my basket, delivery charge - £8.00 (which seems a lot in the first place, but fair enough, I could deal with that)

Added the rear set as well, delivery charge - £12.00 :quiet:

To the same place, I find that quite unbelievable. But it got me thinking, so I went back and added some more stuff...

A third set of brake pads, delivery - £25! Now atm I'm thinking something as gone wrong with the website, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt lol. I've ordered from K-Tec before and don't get me wrong I think they're great! Really good contact over email as well, I really rate the company. But please someone tell me something has gone wrong here, thanks!

Funnily enough there's a simlar thread on OzRS Forums regarding their freight charges for freighting gear to Australia (you can probably imagine the prices!)

Some people have bought off Demon Tweeks instead for a substantially lower cost. But of course they don't sell the specialist stuff like Ktec. :(

I'm sure they'd get a lot more sales from Australia if they could negotiate better freight prices. :) (But without sending the stuff via surface/ship like seems to have happened to one poor Aussie who bargained on freight price and was waaaaaaaaiting a long time for his delivery!)

Our website calculates shipping on an accumulation scale, so for instance if the first item is set at £8.00 and the next one is £4.00 it will add them together up to the shipping cap, which in most cases is £12.00, the exception will be Body Stying items or wheel and tyre packages etc.

It is an area of the website which needs improving I will be the first to admit, but as the website does not take the funds at the point of ordering, in most cases we reduce the shipping at our end, shipping for Cliosport members is capped at £12.00 at our end anyway, but I see how it could put some people off!

For us to get this fixed, we need to see where people want their deliveries first, then it will set the UK shipping rate before you start adding goods to your basket. Shipping prices have gone up quite a bit in the last year or so and we only offer a next day before 3pm service in the UK, which is not the cheapest option, or we post the items and charge accordingly.

These are aspects we are glad to hear about and will be making efforts to change as we begin to offer more facilities and features to the website. We always welcome your comments and suggestions like these and hope to sort it soon.

Sean.

Hey thanks a lot for your reply.

It's good to hear about the capped delivery for Cliosport members...

Can you confirm that it would cost £12 to set a send of four pads to Essex? There's no rush as I just need to get them before my next MOT.
